The Stevens Point Personnel Committee this week wrestled with a request to approve reimbursing uniform costs for an employee of the Stevens Point Fire Department.

Boys & Girls Club to Hold Pitch, Hit and Run Event

Pitch, Hit and Run™ is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball coming to the Plover Boys and Girls Club, 2401 Cedar Drive, on Friday, April 18th at 1 PM.  This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete; free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.

Walker Signs Domestic Abuse Bills

Governor Scott Walker on Wednesday signed three bills in law which he says strengthen laws against domestic violence and adding protections for domestic abuse victims.  Assembly Bill 464, Assembly Bill 176, and Senate Bill 160 were all signed in Milwaukee at Zimmerman Architectural Studios, the firm designing the new Family Justice Center building.  Survivors of domestic violence and family members of victims joined Governor Walker at the bill signing.

Disorderly Conduct: Police were called to Point Motel, 209 Division St., after someone reported a fight between two Chippewa Falls women, 18 and 19, at 1:46 AM. The women were cited for disorderly conduct.

P.J. Jacob Students Win Big at Solo Ensemble Festival
